A Roanoke neighborhood is mourning the loss of a four- year- old boy who accidentally shot himself yesterday evening.
Neighbors say the child was sitting in the front seat of his father's Cadillac when he found a gun that went off and killed him.

The health department has lifted a ban on swimming at Smith Mountain Lake State Park.

Park officials say the elevated levels are from the waste of geese who've taken up residency on the beach.

More than 200 people will soon be looking for work when Vaughan Furniture closes its plant doors in Patrick County.
The company says competition from foreign furniture makers is forcing it to close the plant.
Employees will get severance packages and employment counseling.

Barbara Allen has transformed the old Sunnybrook Inn into the Constantia. She originally planned to open back in July, but several factors caused a delay.
