The National Hurricane Center has downgraded Frances to tropical storm status. Its maximum sustained winds are near 70
miles-an-hour.
Now, forecasters say Frances could regain *hurricane* strength before slamming into the Florida panhandle.
More than four million homes lost power, and three deaths are being blamed on the storm.

The pooch that could scooch to the finish line the fastest won a trip to San Diego for the national finals.
Owners of the dog track say the event outdraws their usual greyhound races.
All the proceeds from the event went to the Arizona Adopt-a-Greyhound program.
