The worst of Frances' flooding is over. All that remains are a few showers.
But the damage caused by the storm will be around a lot longer. One Example in Roanoke County--
(------------)
[VO-NAT]
[SUPER=03-Roanoke Co.;]

On Poor Mountain Road, a culvert gave way to flood waters after debris backed up- the water you see here is several feet lower than at the height of the storm. Asphalt buckled as water rushed beneath it. VDOT crews were forced to bust out the entire culvert because it was causing the water to snake around to a neighbor's house. For several families, the only safe way to get to the main road is now on foot.
