Montgomery County authorities have released the identity of the man who drowned yesterday in the New River.

Sheriff's officials say 27 year old Christopher Merix jumped in the New River to save a friend who had fallen off some rocks. Witnesses say Merix appeared to have a problem and was swept away. The water was fast moving and very high yesterday. His body was recovered a mile and a half down the river near Eggleston Bridge in Giles County.

Today an F-D-A advisory panel agreed there does appear to be a link between some anti depressants and suicidal behavior among children.

Studies find on average kids on anti-depressants have an extra two to three percent increase in suicidal thoughts.
Among the medications with the highest risk relating to suicidal behavor include Luvox, Effexor and Paxil.

Polly Gifford from Newport News wanted a more exciting birthday, so she chose to jump out of an airplane.
Gifford made the jump from 14-thousand feet.
