The North Carolina Highway Patrol identifies him as Michael Reynolds Coward of Danville. He was killed when nine cars and two trucks piled up on US 29 in Guilford County, north of Greensboro.
Six other people were hurt. Investigators say the accident started when a truck hit a car, where lanes merge for a construction zone. The truck driver is charged with involuntary manslaughter for Michael Coward's death.

It was a Pembroke man who drowned in the New River yesterday while trying to save a woman. His identity was released this morning.

Montgomery County Sheriff's officials say 27 year old Christopher Merix jumped in the New River to save a friend who had fallen off some rocks. Witnesses say Merix appeared to have a problem and was swept away. The water was very high yesterday and fast moving. His body was recovered a mile and a half down the river near Eggleston Bridge in Giles County.

That's what happeend at a zoo in Melbourne, Australia.
A 21- year- old man climbed into a lion's enclosure, pulled out a yellow Bible, and asked onlookers whether they wanted him to pat the animals during feeding time.
Zoo staff members later coaxed him out of the den.
Despite the dangerous stunt, the man was NOT injured, but he was taken to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation.

A man involved in a domestic dispute took off in a car with his girlfriend's baby inside.
The pursuit reached speeds up to 100- miles- per hour.
At one point, the suspect slowed down and threw the baby in her car seat out of the moving vehicle.
Two officers rescued the baby from the road, who was NOT harmed.
