Nearby, Route 220 was blocked for hours after the winds flipped two tractor trailers, and knocked several trees down on one entrance ramp. The Southbound lanes were shut down for about 5 hours, until one lane was reopened. Both of the drivers escaped the incident without injury, although both trucks were considered total losses.

Ivan's blamed for at least six deaths in the mountain of western North Carolina. Like many regions, Burke County was trying to recover from Hurricane Frances when Ivan moved in with wind and up to eight inches of rain. Nearly 220 thousand people are without power after the storm dropped as much as eight inches of rain, and winds knocked trees onto power lines.

Back in Viriginia, it's the second go-round for former D-Day director Richard Burrow and federal prosecutors who have charged him with fraud.

Burrow faces a ten-count indictment on bank, mail, wire and loan application fraud related to his fundraising for the Bedford memorial.
His first trial ended in a hung jury in December of 2002.

Add it up and the Europeans have a huge lead over the Americans: six and a-half points to one and a-half. In the biggest surprise, the power-packed team of Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods lost both their matches.
In the morning's best-ball matches, the visitors won three and tied in the other to take three and a-half of the first four points of the competition. In the afternoon's alternate shot matches, Europe took three of the four matches as Chris DiMarco and Jay Haas teamed up for the only U-S win. There are another eight points available tomorrow under the same format with a dozen singles matches on Sunday.

Finally, a bull moose in Utah got too close for comfort in a Salt Lake City neighborhood today.

Officials say the animal was disoriented and trying to get into a hospital. The moose then continued his path through an upscale neighborhood. Homes, fences, and other neighborhood staples had the moose even more confused. Animal control soon caught up to the wandering animal and hit it with a tranquilizer. After carting him off to a more remote location-- the moose was released back into the wild.
