The North Fort Worth Historical Society celebrated the anniversary for a lightbulb that was turned on 96 years ago.
On September 21, 1908, a stagehand at a local opera house flicked a switch and posted a sign that the light over a stage entrance was not be turned off.
The bulb is 40 watts and is made of a sturdy carbon filament. The administrator of the museum where the light burns says she has no idea why it has lasted so long.
