The federal fraud trial continues in Charlottesville for the former president of the National D-Day Memorial.

Richard Burrow faces ten fraud charges for allegedly misleading banks and donors into loaning money to help build the memorial.
A federal prosecutor said in opening statements yesterday that Burrow ``thought he was above the law.'' Burrow's attorney told the jury the Foundation board authorized Burrow's plans to secure loans for the memorial.
His first trial ended in a hung jury in December of 2002.

He picked up his video camera and recorded the conditions as the tornado narrowly missed his neighborhood.

Warrick was monitoring News 7 Weather on his television and Weatherbug on his computer as the storm approached.


He admits he may have been foolish not to take cover, but says he wanted to capture the tornado on videotape.

A local college student who suffered Taliban rule says the U-S invasion of Afghanistan was worth it.

Mina Ayob is an Afghani native who left her homeland two years ago to attend Ferrum College.
Under Taliban rule, Mina like all women had no rights and could not even attend school.
When she returned to Afghanistan this summer she saw a completely different country.

Holly says when he first started his job two years ago, he noticed a lot of parents weren't smiling when they dropped their kids off at school. So, after watching a few music videos and the high school band, he decided to do something about it.

A Virginia Tech student who died over the weekend may have had alcohol poisoning.

Friends found 23 year old Thomas Ryan Hauser dead in their home on Center Street early Sunday morning. Police say he and friends had been bar hopping in downtown Blacksburg the night before and he had to be carried to a friend's house. Counseling is now available for students. University officials are hoping everyone learns a valuable lesson from Hauser's death.

The Roanoke City sheriff's office says someone is using the department's name to scam citizens.
The department says it's received several reports of a group of people soliciting money both door to door and by telephone.
The people are falsely identifying themselves as being affiliated with the Roanoke Sheriff's Office. Sheriff George McMillan says the department has not authorized any solicitations.
