The small plane crashed on Tuesday in the rugged wilderness of Montana- the original sheriff's report said five people were killed.
Now authorities say two people actually survived and made their way out of the region- one day after the sheriff reportedly announced their deaths.

Austrian athlete Felix Baumgartner climbed the arch of the famous landmark, where he waited until the weather conditions were just right for the parachute jump.
Baumgartner had barely landed, when officers arrested him, his photographer, and two assistants.
After being interrogated for about a week, Baumgartner was released and returned home to Austria.
He's known for stunts like flying across the English Channel in his own specially- constructed suit.
