(( Deputies say a man showed up at a home asking to use the phone and then sexually assaulted the woman. He then allegedly took the woman's 24 year old daughter to the house next door.
When 38 year old Glenda Delphine Magee opened the door, the suspect hit her in the face and rushed inside.
The 24 year old neighbor escaped and called authorities who surrounded Magee's home and began to negotiate the suspect's surrender.
A sheriff's deputy trying to negotiate over the phone heard Glenda Magee screaming in the background and a SWAT team was ordered to move into the house.
Officers found Magee on a bed with stab wounds to her chest and shoulder. She later died at Martinsville Memorial hospital.
The suspect was taken into custody. He also had minor injuries.
Authorities have not identified him by name, but say he is a 36 year old local resident who was Magee's former boyfriend.
