There's been a lot of that ever since residents were displaced by Tuesday's flooding.
Nearly fifty of them continue to temporarily call the Salem Civic Center home.

Besides operating this shelter, the Red Cross is also providing vouchers so flood victims can buy things like food, clothing, and medicine.
In just two days, more than two hundred people have come here to the service center at Ridgewood Baptish Church.

The Red Cross Service Center will be open tomorrow from nine to noon at Ridgewood Baptist Church.
It will be closed Sunday but will be open all next week from 10 to 4:30.

Roanoke City officials say the flooding caused more than 7-million dollars in damages to 93 homes and 43 businesses. The cost to repair bridges and streets could reach a quarter of a million dollars. Officials say those numbers could rise as more information is gathered.

A local hospital is celebrating a new certification.

Alleghany Regional Hospital was notified by the Virginia Department of Health that it will soon be allowed to offer radiation therapy services at the Low Moor facility. The hospital has been seeking the certification for a while, to better serve the area's aging population. Construction on an 8-thousand square foot addition is expected to start soon, and will cost nearly five and half million dollars. Currently, the closest radiation therapy service to the Highlands is in Roanoke or Lewisburg, West Virginia.

Closing arguments are scheduled to begin Monday in the federal fraud trial of former D-Day president Richard Burrow.

Burrow is accused of deceiving banks, donors and the state of Virginia while struggling to raise money to get the monument built before its dedication in 2001. The defense rested its case today after hearing from retired banker and expert fundraiser Warner Dalhouse. Dalhouse told the jury Burrow did nothing unusual or unethical ... and that non-profit agencies like D-Day routinely take out bank loans to fix cash flow problems. Burrow did not testify in his own defense ... he did take the stand in his first trial two years ago, which ended in a hung jury. That 15 foot great white shark is still swimming in a small cove off Cape Cod.

Instead of beach goers running for their lives, it's been a feeding frenzy for thrill seekers who forget it's not sea world.
One person tried to pet the shark and was asked to leave the area immediately.
State wildlife officials are scrambling- fearing the shark's primal instincts could switch on at any time.

Marine biologists have been trying to lure the shark back out to open waters... they may be forced to use electronic prodding to nudge the shark on.
