Tropical Storm Matthew drenched southeast Louisiana, flooding roads and sending coastal residents to higher ground.

The storm was downgraded to a tropical depression this morning as its maximum sustained winds dropped below 40 miles per hour. NO injuries have been reported and officials say house flooding is limited. Emergency officials say just a few families showed up at shelters where most of the house flooding occurred. The system dropped seven inches of rain in some areas yesterday, with another five in some places today.

Police say a bomb threat was called-in to Echostar this afternoon. Authorities evacuated the building while a bomb-sniffing dog searched the area. No bomb was found, and employees returned to work. Police say they are actively looking for whoever called in the threat.

Radford Police say the 20 year old Junior from *Midlothian* was at a party on the third floor of an apartment building in the 700 block of Downey Street. Police say just after the midnight, the student tried to pull himself onto a railing to sit when he fell over. He was found unconscious on the ground with minor visible trauma and taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Investigators say the railing did not appear to be faulty. Police have NOT ruled out alcohol or drugs as a factor.

It happened around two in the morning on Mountain Pass Road between Blue Ridge and Troutville. Investigators say Neel's Mazda was headed eastbound when he ran off the right side of the road and struck several objects including two trees.

A historic hangar at one airport museum in Michigan is now history -- after a devastating fire.

The fire broke out last night at the Yankee Air Museum -- located at the Willow Run Airport in Van Buren Township. No one was hurt, but the fire destroyed an historic hangar -- originally built by Henry Ford to produce World War II bombers on assembly lines, like those used at his automotive plants. Museum officials say the hangar is a complete loss, but they are thankful most of the historic aircraft was saved -- including a military bomber jet.

A hot-air balloon ride wasn't a joyful ride for two kids in New Mexico.

Their hot-air balloon became entangled in a radio tower on the final day of Albuquerque's trademark balloon festival.

The balloon's canopy got wrapped up around the triangular-shaped tower, leaving its *gondola* resting up against the structure. The 69-year-old pilot and the two boys -- ages 10 and 14-- then began the long climb down the tower's 700-foot tall ladder. All made it down safely.

The *CROP Walk for the Hungry* began outside the First Presbyterian Church on Jefferson Street and made a four-and-a half mile circle around Roanoke. The walk supports the work performed by the Church World Service for disaster relief, providing food for the hungry, and in educational efforts throughout the world. 75 percent of the proceeds from today's walk will be distributed nationally. The rest will stay in Roanoke to help feed the hungry. The walk is over 50-years old, and last year alone the group raised 18-thousand dollars for the poor.

Let's start on the track in Martinsville, where the Baileys 300 pitted the best late model stock car racers on the East Coast.

It was a beautiful fall day for racing in Southside, as more than 15 thousand fans showed up for the beatin' and bangin.'
We pick things up in the first heat race. The new SAFER barriers were put to the test early and often. This collision took place on the very first lap of the day.
Pole sitter Richard Landreth and Denny Hamlin dominated the first hundred laps of the main event. They swapped the lead numerous times, but some folks had more pressing issues, like this guy who worked his tan most of the day.
The hits kept on coming in this one. Turns three and four collected a few more members to the crash club. At the halfway point, the top 6 drivers were inverted, leaving Roanoke's Tony McGuire out front.
McGuire made himself right at home in the lead, never giving it up. He led the final 100 plus laps, holding off Timothy Peters for the checkers. McGuire is the first two time winner of the event. He knows perhaps better than anybody, that a little racing luck never hurts.
