Some nurses at the University of Virginia Medical Center are upset over the center's hiring practices. That's because the hospital is cutting the salaries of its current nurses -- even though it has hired a dozen new nurses from as far away as Australia and South Africa - and says it plans to hire more.
A hospital spokesman says the foreign recruiting is needed to maintain adequate staffing levels in a competitive market.
