With little more than words Reeve turned his life into a crusade to find a cure for spinal injuries. He never gave up hope of walking again.

THE SPECIALIZED WORKOUT REGIMEN COUPLED WITH ELECTRICAL STIMULATION ALLOWED HIM TO REGAIN SENSATION IN PARTS OF HIS BODY, BREATH FOR PERIODS OF TIME WITHOUT A RESPIRATOR, AND EVEN MOVE HIS INDEX FINGER.
Dr. John McDonald/Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis
