A teenager was first charged with the crime, but was found not guilty last year.

The case took a new twist today when Thomas' husband and another man were arrested and charged with capital murder.

Maverick Demarco Thomas, more commonly known as Maverick Muhammad, led a number of vigils after his wife's murder.
While prosecutors often said the case was a murder for hire and that Maverick Muhammad paid to have his wife killed, he maintained his innocence and was never charged until today.
The other suspect is identified as Malvester Dixon Jr., also known as Malvester Muhammad. Both men face the same charges including conspiracy, murder for hire, and use of a firearm in the commission of a murder for hire.

Authorities say no one was injured by the flames, but the home was a total loss.

20-year-old Phillip Barrar from Midlothian, Virginia fell from a third story apartment on Downey Street. It happened early Sunday morning during a party. Police say Barrar was trying to sit on the balcony railing when he fell. He was found unconscious and taken to the trauma center. Police are still investigating whether alcohol was a factor.
