One man was injured and two suspects are in custody following an early morning shooting in Roanoke.

Police say 31 year old Vincent King, was shot in the neck around three this morning after two men entered his apartment on Old Spanish Trail. King's girlfriend was allegedly abducted by the shooters. Roanoke police later stopped a vehicle and found King's girlfriend. 36 year old Maurice White is charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and abduction. 36 year old Wayne McDonald is charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. Both suspects are Roanoke residents and being held without bond in the City Jail. King is in stable condition at Roanoke Memorial.

The Chinese government says the death toll has risen to 64 after a gas explosion in a coal mine.
Officials say there's little chance of finding the dozens of missing miners alive.

An Appomattox County man is recovering after he was almost buried alive last night.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Route 609 around six o-clock last night, where a newly-installed septic system had collapsed.
The victim had been standing on top of the system at the time, and was buried in more than three feet of dirt.
Rescuers were able to stabilize the situation and get him oxygen while trench rescue experts from Lynchburg were called to the scene.
