Investigators say the Hendrick Motorsports airplane that crashed yesterday in Patrick County made an unsuccessful approach to the Martinsville airport before it crashed into Bull Mountain.
The remains of all ten victims were recovered today and brought to Roanoke.

Mast says because the Blue Ridge Airport is not controlled, and surrounded by mountains, it's possible the Hendrick plane could have misapproached it, causing it to hit the side of the mountain... Then again, he says it's possible the plane's instruments just failed.

A controversial development in Roanoke County has people riled up yet again.

The company is now asking Roanoke County for nearly one million dollars in tax incentives to make improvements to Route 419.

A company that wants to build a shooting preserve in Nelson County wants its case on the legal fast track.

Orion Sporting Group was turned down for a conditional use permit to allow shooting sports on 450 acres of land it owns near Wingina (win-JY-nuh).
Orion appealed the supervisors' decision to the circuit court ... earlier this month a judge ruled the board's refusal amounted to a county-wide ban on hunting.
Part of the company's lawsuit against Nelson County is now moving forward and Orion today asked for the case to go to trial before the end of the year.
