Federal investigators are expected on the scene this morning of a plane crash that killed several members of the Hendrick racing family.

The plane crashed in a wooded area of bull mountain of Patrick county. State police secured the crash site last night and were still there this morning. The area's rocky terrain is causing obstacles.

Still no word on what caused the crash but some rescue workers say fog may have made visibility nearly impossible. All ten people on board were killed. The plane left from Concord North Carolina, en route to Blue Ridge Airport in Spencer Virginia -- less than ten miles from the crash site. None of the bodies have been recovered because of the terrain.

Rescue crews and the National Transportation Safety Board will return to some steep woods this morning -- where a plane crash took ten lives yesterday afternoon.
Authorities say the plane was owned by Hendrick Motorsports, one of the biggest names in NASCAR racing.
