State Police say 72 year old Theresa Moramarco (mora- Marco) of Florida drifted into the right lane and hit a beer truck. She was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, along with a passenger who lost a finger in the wreck. Moramarco is charged with reckless driving.

Effinger Elementary was originally left out of a plan to upgrade three schools at the same time. This week, the Board of Supervisors approved 3-point-8 million dollars for the work. School officials say now, all of the county's five elementary schools will be brought up to current standards. Effinger is the smallest school in Rockbridge County, with 116 students.

Officers went to Spencer's home Sunday night in Cornelius, North Carolina to arrest his 18-year-old son on a misdemeanor charge of injury to personal property.
