State police say an Army helicopter crashed early this morning. At around 12:30 a helicopter out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina went down in Buckingham County. There were some injuries, but nothing life threatening. Police are now waiting on the military to start an investigation.

Victory Stadium could look a lot different one day if Roanoke decides to renovate.

During a citizen's committe meeting last night, one member gave a presentation on a redesigned Victory Stadium.
Jan Wilkins recommends taking out the stands on the east side and replacing them with a stage.
He believes the plan would work if it's economically feasible.
The committee also heard from Virginia Amateur Sports on how a new stadium may bring more sporting events and revenue to the city.

A few hundred people gathered outside the headquarters of Hendrick Motorsports near Charlotte.
Members of Motor Racing Outreach conducted the service in honor of the ten people who died when their plane crashed in Patrick County.

Earlier yesterday a member of the Hendrick family visited the crash site in Patrick County.
Ricky Hendrick's brother-in-law, Marshall Carlson, arrived at the foot of Bull Mountain with two of Hendrick's close friends.
They came, he said, to find some closure and to thank the volunteers who rushed up the mountain after the plane crash, and have helped investigators ever since.

Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board say the Hendrick plane did not transmit a distress call before the crash. Yesterday, they confirmed that navigational aids at the Blue Ridge Airport were working properly.
An aircraft recovery team is now preparing to remove the wreckage and transport it to a facility in Delaware for further analysis.

A Rockbridge County school originally left out of plans for renovation will get a facelift after all.

Effinger Elementary was originally left out of a plan to upgrade three schools at the same time. This week, the Board of Supervisors approved 3-point-8 million dollars for the work. School officials say now, all of the county's five elementary schools will be brought up to current standards. Effinger is the smallest school in Rockbridge County, with 116 students.
