The school board requested the money. The county asked that someone from the school system be in attendance before it delivered.
When no one showed- the supervisors tabled the request saying their questions weren't being answered.

A Franklin County jury is expected to begin its deliberation tomorrow, in the case of Danville man charged with killing his girlfriend near Smith Mountain Lake.

32 year old Stanley Tate is on trial for the murder of 29 year old Charmane Davis, who was not only his girlfriend by the mother of his two children. Davis was found shot to death inside Tate's Franklin County home last May. Today, Tate and La Chrissa Robertson, who is described as the "other woman", testified they believed Davis was an intruder when she broke into the home.

THERE'S A LOT MORE WOMEN COMING OUT NOT AFRAID GOOD CHANGE. IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE WE'RE OVER THERE FOR A PURPOSE NOW INSTEAD OF BEING EXTRA BODIES WE'RE ACTUALLY MAKE SOME DIFFERENCE.
Nelson is home until next week- then it is back to Afghanistan until next summer- a longer stint than he ever expected in the Guard. BEING AWAY FROM YOUR FAMILY. MISSING EVERYTHING BACK HERE LIKE I'VE DONE MISSED HIS FIRST YEAR OF FOOTBALL. STUFF YOU CAN'T GET BACK.. KIND OF HARD.))

Laura Beckman Rodes lost by a single vote to incumbent Keith Jones in the Big Island district.

Today, Rodes filed a petition for a recount with the Bedford County circuit court clerk.
The county's electoral board had already canvassed the results and upheld Jones' win.

Rodes would like to have more than 100 paper ballots individually examined.

This dream involves a synthetic putting green, a short game area, a driving range and a learning center for all Roanoke Valley kids ages 8 to 18. ((:))
The first Tee program supporters laid out a plan to add another 500 thousand dollars to the half million in funding already raised. Partnering with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia further cements the Scott Robertson Memorial organizations desire to teach golf as well as life skills to youth. ((:))
Scholarships will be available so all kids have a chance at first tee and the participants will be able top play at Countryside and Brookside golf courses.
