Police in Danville have arrested the mother of a two year old child who was abducted from his maternal grandmother last week.

Authorities picked up 25 year old Sherri Latoya Stevens after she was released from the hospital.
She's been charged with the abuction of her son, A'Mario Stevens.

Danville police have also arrested a former N-F-L player for the Buffalo Bills.
Officers were sent to the Ramada Inn on Riverside Drive for a domestic abuse call.
A woman said she'd been assaulted.
After entering a room, they found what appeared to be marijuana, cocaine, a gun, and a large amount of money.
Twenty five year old Julius Tyrone Robertson was charged with possesion of marijuana and cocaine, with the intent to distribute, as well as possession of a firearm while possessing drugs.
He is being held in Danville under a half- million dollar bond.
Robertson played for the Bills in 2001.
He played high school football for George Washington High School, and is a former Friday Football Extra Player of the Week.

Search teams are back on the scene in Giles County -- looking for a missing political activist. 44 year old Susan Daniels has been missing since Wednesday. The body of her 40 year old friend -- Niklan Matt Jones was found this weekend.

Verizon has petitioned Virginia's State Corporation Commission to raise its phone rates for both residential and commercial customers in rural areas. If the commission approves the request -- some rates in the state could go up by 10-percent. Verizon officials say the company is struggling in rural areas, because the rates they charge are below the operating cost. A public hearing on the matter will be held later today at the State Corporation Commission in Richmond.
