The county looked at a dozen sites, before selecting two parcels located close together near West River Road.
Nearby residents dont want it in their neighborhood but say it's more than that.

Officers aren't sure where Johnson is, but say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

A 5-year old boy has died after being injured in accident yesterday afternoon.
Police say it happened around two on Thompson Memorial Boulevard in Roanoke County.
Officers say 31-year-old Glovern Ray Phipps of Salem ran his pickup truck off the right side of the road and hit an embankment.
Phipps' five-year-old son Ryan Danson Phipps, was taken to the hospital this morning, where he later died.
Phipps was arrested for D-U-I.
Officers say he could face more charges.

B-W-X Technologies became the first corporate sponsor to get on board, presenting Chief Charles Bennett with a check today for five thousand dollars.

Lynchburg's police department was first formed in January, 1805.

Today, MeadWestvaco donated Falling Spring and its surrounding property to the Virginia State Park system.
Unlike most falls in the Commonwealth that are cascades or slides, Falling Spring is a drop of about 150-feet "off an overhanging ledge."

The Radford University men's basketball program is bringing it roundball to the Roanoke Valley next week.
RU is moving its men's game against Hampton University to the Salem Civic Center on December 8th.
The game will tipoff at 7:00 and it will feature the return of Salem native Richard Morgan - Hampton's head coach.

But tonight Radford played its home opener at the Dedmon Center taking on the Ferrum College Panthers in a non-conference game for both.
Ferrum's Kerry Johnson would take a liking to the dome as he sets up Ken Holley for the alleyoop and the Panthers drop in two early.
Radford would look to push its lead into double figures in first 20 minutes, Olumuyiwa Popoola anticipates the pass and takes the steal in for the jam for the Highlanders. He had 23.
Ferrum would try to counter that with Jeremy Yancey, who slices through the defense and converts the bucket to stay within striking distance.
But RU's pressure would pay off. Another steal, this time by Chris Goodin leads to a Popoola behind the back pass to Chris Oliver, who slams it home.

The Highlanders hammer Ferrum tonight 89 to 60 and improve to 3 to 1.

After Saturday's loss to Tech UVa president John Casteen issued a statement saying that the Cavs would not take part in any bowl that conflicted with final exams.
That knocked UVa out of the December Champs Sports Bowl, however, it appears that the ACC is now close to finalizing a deal to send the Cavs to the Independence Bowl on December 28th in Shreveport, Louisiana to play Oklahoma State.
Athletic Director Craig Littlepage said tonight that nothing is final and that the Micron PC bowl in Boise, Idaho also is still an option.

The Mountaineers had been the front-runner for the Big East's guaranteed B-C-S bowl bid before their 36-to-17 upset loss to Boston College two weeks ago.
And their 16-to-13 loss to Pittsburgh on Thanksgiving night.
WVU finished with an 8-and-3 record, 4-and 2 in the Big East.

Trappers at the University are trying to snare a rare Florida crocodile that took up residence in the campus lake about a year ago.
University officials are concerned that the croc isn't showing enough fear of humans and is getting too close for comfort.
Trappers say every hour the croc comes up for a matter of seconds and that catching it involves being in the right place at the right time
