A Lynchburg taxi driver is recovering after a botched robbery attempt early Sunday morning.
51 year old James Marshall Crawford told police he picked up a man wearing a puffy black jacket shortly after 1 o'clock.
The passenger tried to rob Crawford at the intersection of 5th and Polk streets.
Crawford got out and started to run when the suspect shot him twice in the neck and shoulder.

Yesterday, hundreds of friends and family gathered to remember the Marine, and celebrate his life.
