While friends honored Daniels Tuesday's night, an organizer says yesterday's event was a chance for the Tech community to pay tribute to her life and accomplishments. Police say Daniels died in mid-November in what they believe was a murder-suicide. Authorities say Niklan Matt Jones murdered Daniels, torched her house and then stabbed himself.

The city of Bedford has submitted its final plan to deal with the groundwater contamination around the city's former landfill. The proposals include building a public water line to serve six homes along Bell Town Road, a project that's expected to take a full year. It needs state and county approval first.
