Ken Dunker's firm, Diving Enterprises was notified two years ago of a criminal investigation pending against Fire Safety products. Fire Safety Products was just indicted, along with its principal employees, three men from Christiansburg. They're accused of certifying cylinders for re-use without performing the hydrostatic tests required to ensure they won't blow up the next time they're pressurized.

Dunker's not accused of any wrong-doing. He was simply a CUSTOMER of Fire Safety Products, one of those who relied upon the firm in Christiansburg and Princeton to re-certify cylinders. The government alleges Fire Safety Products stamped its approval on tanks that wouldn't have even passed a visual test, much less a hydrostatic test. As in many walks of life, looks can be deceiving. The 45-year old gray tank might be more reliable than a shiny new one.
