The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is making the recommendation after investigating reports of a joint separation. When the joint separates, the suspension can collapse and the wheel can fall off. The government says it has several reports of crashes, but no injuries due to the problem.

Authorities say the call used towers in Lenoir County, North Carolina- and that's where the search for the missing travelers continues.

The ship will eventually serve as a goodwill ambassador for the state.

When News 7 visited the shipyard in June, workmen were planking the hull.

Now, the builders of the 122- foot sailing ship have already marked an important milestone. Wednesday, a crane hoisted the boat from the pier where it was constructed, and lowered it into the Elizabeth River.
The schooner must still be outfitted with masts, but the auxiliary engines donated by Salem-based Carter Machinery and Caterpillar USA are already in place.

Residents of one Alleghany County community say they have been left out of a project that could change their neighborhood in a big way.

MeadWestvaco is looking at building a distribution center in the area that would consolidate warehousing and distribution. The center would mean a big increase in the truck and train traffic in the area. MeadWestvaco has scheduled a meeting with nearby landowners on Monday to talk about the project. Opponents of the project say there are other available industrial sites in the area that would be more suitable.
