Breckenridge Middle School was placed on lockdown just after the lunch hour.

School officials took the action after warnings of what might be a serious threat.

Roanoke City Police were called to the school after a parent told authorities she was threatened by her son, who might arrive at the school with a weapon. Police responded and arrested a juvenile at the school, but no weapon was found. School officials sent a letter home with students explaining what happened saying "In an effort to ensure the safety of our students, the police were contacted and remained on the premises for the remainder of the day and through dismissal." The principal at Breckenridge says the day ended without incident.

Police have identified suspects in yesterday's bomb threat in Pulaski County. Someone "called in" a threat to Dublin Middle School. The school resource officer says he has three suspects, and they are all under the age of 15. He says charges are likely.

Two citizens helped stop a strongarm robbery at the New River Valley Mall last night. Christiansburg Police say a 17 year old female and 18 year old Sharmain Gravely attacked a woman in the parking lot and took her purse. They've been charged with robbery and assault. Police say two other people who saw the crime happen, ran to the victim's aid, recovered the purse and got the license plate number for the suspects.

A Virginia Tech cadet was found guilty this afternoon of sexual assault, but he won't have to spend any time behind bars. A judge convicted 21- year old Jan-Michael Walker of two counts of sexual battery. Police say Walker sexually assaulted a female student last April in Brodie Hall. Walker was given a two year suspended prison sentence and two years probation.
