Roanoke City Police were called to the school after a parent told authorities she was threatened by her son, who might arrive at the school with a weapon. Police responded and arrested a juvenile at the school, but no weapon was found. School officials sent a letter home with students explaining what happened saying "In an effort to ensure the safety of our students, the police were contacted and remained on the premises for the remainder of the day and through dismissal." The principal at Breckenridge says the day ended without incident.
At least one parent is upset with the lock down.
