Roanoke fire crews have been on the scene of a house fire for several hours now.

Firefighters got the call around 9:15 tonight.
The home in the 14-hundred block of Grayson Avenue was in flames when they arrived.
An occupant of the house was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, but there's no word on his injuries or condition.
Crews say they don't yet know how the fire started.

Emergency crews say the equipment caught the employee's clothes on fire.

A number of parents were upset their kids had to go to school on-time today.

Authorities say Montgomery has confessed to strangling Bobbie Jo Stinnett of Skidmore, Missouri, last Thursday, cutting out the fetus and taking the baby back to Kansas, where she tried to pass

A U-S postal worker stands accused of stealing hundreds of pieces of mail.

Officials say a citizen tipped them off Thursday that someone had dumped more than 400-pieces of undelivered mail into a Roanoke city dumpster.
Authorities tracked the mail to an employee at the Main Office,

and searched his home the next day, where they recovered several THOUSAND pieces of undelivered and rifled mail.
Officials say most of it was greeting cards from customers in Roanoke City and County.
Authorities retained about 200-pieces of the mail for evidence, and are now trying to identify all of the victims, and send them a letter of explanation.

But Blake's lawyer attacked their credibility, saying they're hallucinating drug abusers.
If convicted, the 71-year old Blake could face life in prison.

The Virginia Tech Hokies have been riding a wave of success and euphoria ever since winning the ACC title.
This afternoon the program got more good news as the number one rated high school player in the state verbally committed to the Hokies.

Victor "Macho" Harris picked the Hokies over UVa, Michigan, and Southern California.
The 6-0, 180-pound Highland Springs star rushed for 2346 yards this season, averaged 10 and a half yards per carry and he scored a total of 31 touchdowns.
For his career, Harris had over 5300 yards rushing and 65 touchdowns.

A grease fire last Wednesday at Harris' home burned the star in several places and will force him to have a skin graft tomorrow, just as Coach Beamer did when he was a youngster.

The Eagles Super Bowl plans took a big hit today as Terrell Owens, their all-pro receiver was diagnosed with a broken leg.
He has a fractured fibula below the right knee and a high ankle sprain so severe that he will need surgery.
Still, the Eagles think he could make it back if they go all the way.

Don Montgomery, an assistant football coach at Mount Union College comes to Emory after 27 years in Alliance, Ohio.
