A big jump in natural gas prices this winter can be attributed to a clerical mistake.
(------------)

Last month, a clerk for Dominion gas accidentally emailed the wrong storage report to the Energy Information Administration. The file wrongly indicated a large, unexpected withdrawal from natural gas inventories, causing prices to soar for the month of December.
