Authorities say a Roanoke woman is dead after her vehicle slid off a road and into a creek. Betty Jo Jones died in Thursday night's accident in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Police say she apparently lost control of her vehicle when she hit a patch of ice, sending the car into a creek. Despite frigid temepatures, dive teams and rescue workers searched the water into the early morning hours. They resumed the search last night, and eventually pulled the car from the water. Family members say Jones was on her way to visit one of her children, and was reported missing when she didn't arrive.
