Health officials won't be specific about who brought the illness to the Amherst County school.

Meanwhile, Roanoke fire investigators comtinue to study a fatal fire this weekend. A man and a woman were killed when a fire broke out at three o'clock New Year's morning in a small apartment behind Gary's Restaurant on Sixth Street.

Today, city building inspectors were on the scene to investigate what they call a "combined building and zoning issue." No word what building inspectors found, but fire officials say the small apartment had only one-exit. The medical examiner has yet to release the names of the people killed in the blaze.

The 71st Sugar Bowl has not been a sweet experience for the Hokies so far as Auburn defense has had an answer for the Hokies offense most of the night.

The Hokies came out of the tunnel inside the Sugar Dome first and at a fast pace
while the Tigers were all business, walking out on to the turf.
In the first quarter, Auburn's talented running backs were held in check for the most part with the exception of this Ronnie Brown run down inside the Tech 10 yard line.
The Tech defense actually kept the Hokies in the game in the first two quarters. Noland Burchette sacks Jason Campbell at the five yard line on this play here.
Auburn had to settle for three first half field goals by John Vaughn.
The Tigers defense also frustrated Tech. Junior Rosegreen picks off Bryan Randall's pass to stop a Tech drive in the first quarter.
Tech finally penetrated the Auburn defense. Randall, on the fake reverse throws deep to Josh Hyman who takes it all the way to the Tigers two.
The Hokies got within a foot of the goal line, but on fourth down, Randall's pas to full back Jesse Allen is dropped in the end zone. Tech trailed 9 nothing at intermission and is losing 16 to 6 in the fourth quarter.

NASA scientists celebrated the Mars rover's birthday today with a cake- and with a new discovery.

One year ago the first of two Mars rovers landed on the red planet. NASA officials say rover *Spirit* recently found new geologic material in a rock-like lump dubbed *Wishstone.* It's chemistry is different from anything else found so far, and seems to be the product of volcanic activity or a colission.
