It's no secret that some Roanoke residents are angered over a planned Methadone Clinic. The facility, run by CRC Health Group, may open its doors on Hershberger road as early as next week. Friday night, nearly 60 residents packed the back room of La' Cove restaurant, in Northwest Roanoke, to organize a new neighborhood committee.

Workers have been going door to door in South Carolina looking for more victims of a deadly train wreck and gas leak.

The crash happened early Thursday when a Norfolk-Southern freight train hit a parked train rupturing a tanker filled with chlorine. A high-speed chase through Lynchburg has landed an Amherst County man in jail.

Around 10:30, a Lynchburg officer observed an alleged drug transaction and tried to pull over the driver.
The car took off with police in pursuit at speeds in excess of 100 miles an hour.
Lynchburg authorities dropped the chase as the car went into Amherst County, but deputies there spotted the vehicle a few minutes later.
53-year-old Richard Dwayne Peters faces charges of reckless driving and eluding police.
Amherst authorities have charged him with possession of crack cocaine.

Roanoke police are on the scene of a deadly shooting tonight.
Officers say just before eight o-clock, family members found a man and a woman dead inside a home in the 1900 hundred block of Orange Avenue.
21 year old Latoria Smith and 34 year old Mark Anthony Lester had both been shot to death.
Police aren't yet sure if they're dealing with a dounble murder or murder-suicide.
We'll have more information as it becomes available.

A piece of Montgomery County history is seeing the light for a final time.

The county received a grant to excavate the old Merrimac Coal Mine, and then seal it off forever. The mine started producing coal in the 17-hundreds before closing about 70 years ago. Items of historic value found in the mine will be preserved and put on display in the Coal Mining Heritage Park museum that is in the planning stage. Early next week, crews will backfill the shaft, and then seal it off.

Egypt's chief archaeologist says the kind was buried in a "hurried" fashion in a glitter of gold treasures, a sign that he may have been murdered. The mysteries include Tut's royal lineage and his exact age at the time of death - now estimated at 17.

Musgrave previously served as offensive coordinator-quarterbacks coach with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2003-04 seasons. Regarding Musgrave, Gibbs said: "We have somebody that a lot of us know. He's bright and sharp. He comes from a different tree as far as offense goes, which is good because it brings in a lot of new ideas." Musgrave was the offensive coordinator at UVa before going to Jacksonville.

King caught 25 passes and had 304 receiving yards to go with 4 touchdown catches for the Hokies this past season which ended January third in the Sugar Bowl.
Sources say King made the decision to play for Seth Greenberg earlier this week. King, who was a stand out basketball player at Pulaski County, will officially join the team next week and will suit up for the game Wednesday January 12th against Bethune Cookman. The junior will give the Hokies a much need strong body inside.
