The birthday of celebrated civil right leader Martin Luther King, Jr. will be this month -- and some Lynchburg residents are hoping to honor him on a more permanent basis.

Officials at the university aren't releasing his name.

The University is still awaiting word on more than 700 students who are from the Tsunami ravaged countries.

A Henry County volunteer rescue squad has a lot to brag about from 2004.

The Horsepasture volunteers answered one hundred percent of their rescue calls last year.
The 44 person crew has ten minutes to respond to the call and get the ambulance on the road before an alternate crew is called.
The volunteers did that more than seven-hundred times last year.
Henry County officials say they are proud of the Horsepasture crew and that they are starting a program called the Hero Campaign to encourage more citizens to volunteer.

Little Rock, Arkansas debuted its trolley system in November, and across the country more than a dozen cities have reintroduced streetcars to help spur development.
In Roanoke, Jefferson Street is the likely route, linking the Carilion Biomedical Institute with downtown.
A report presented to city council this week estimated the cost at 17-million dollars, with the federal government picking up about half. Officials are now seeking a grant to pay for a more detailed study.
