Fire officials in Radford will start investigating a morning blaze that crews quickly extinguished. The fire gutted a single story structure in the 1000 block of Lawrence Street off Tyler Avenue this morning. Officials say it was a fraternity house.
One person suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital. The other four residents were not home at the time. Arson investigators and the fire chief will return to the scene at 9 A-M to look for the cause.

Roanoke's Jamestown Committee is planning a number of events to do just that. Some ideas include a railroad festival as well as various steam excursions. The committee is even working to get Roanoke designated as a historic rail district, which COULD lead to federal funding in the future.

Church members and friends held an inpromptu prayer service last night for an 18 year old Roanoke girl who died while running. Grace Lovegrove collapsed Monday while running with her track teammates at Christopher Newport University. She was taken to the hospital where she stayed in critical condition until she died. Doctors performed several tests on Lovegrove, but haven't been able to determine why she went into cardiac arrest.[8-V
