Drivers across the region were sweeping snow from thier windshields this morning -- especially those in the higher elevations. State Police dispatchers say Interstate 64 at Afton Mountain was shut down for about six hours overnight, as snow fell, and drivers ran off the road. There were more than a dozen wrecks there last night, but none were very serious. The mountain separates Augusta and Albemarle counties and is one of the first places to see snow due to its height.
