Roanoke City officials say they'll keep a sharp eye on the controversial methadone clinic -- even though they there's not much that can be done to regulate the business.

Council Member Sherman Lea asked officials if the city could regulate the clinic's hours, and prohibit the distribution of drugs that would be taken off the premises. City Manager Darlene Burcham said officials are reviewing a number of issues including traffic and security.

Police in Roanoke say they've caught two online predators since October.

46-year-old George Alexander Porter of Hopewell was arrested Saturday at the Greyhound Bus Station downtown.

Police say Porter went to the area to meet a 13-year-old girl he had been communicating with on the internet. But instead, a detective posed as the teenager. Porter was arrested and charged with use of communication systems to facilitate offenses involving a child, indent liberties and possession of marijuana.

A Gile County pastor accused of breaking into homes and stealing prescription drugs is behind bars.

Narrows Police say they caught 47 year old Kimball Jones on tape yesterday morning breaking into a woman's home and stealing her prescription drugs. He's been charged with felony breaking and entering and misdemeanor larceny of prescription drugs.

Jones is the pastor of New Beginning Church in Narrows. He also works for the county as a driver for senior citizens.
