A very rough day for Smoky the horse- he apparently got spooked sometime during the night and jumped right into the wedge of several tree trunks.

When smokey's owner got there, the horse was wedged a couple of feet above the ground between the trunks of the tree.

Firefighters and others used a forklift and chainsaws ... laboring for more than two hours to pry Smokey loose from several branches.
Vets say Smokey is exhausted, but recovering. (------------)
