Workers spent today clearing overnight snows, and with tomorrow's weather expected to bring ice into the mix, officials say a major concern is the chemicals used to clear that ice from the roads. A teenager from Rockbridge County died in a car wreck this morning.
State police say 17-year-old Timothy Edward Mullen was on Route 39 near Goshen when he ran off the road and hit a tree.
Police say Mullen was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.

Investigators say a fire that heavily damaged an Amherst restaurant was accidental. They're not releasing the cause just yet, but authorities say this morning's blaze at the Briar Patch restaurant started in the bar area on the first floor.
The restaurant was destroyed by another accidental fire in August of 2003 and had just re-opened last fall.
The owner says she again plans to rebuild.

Former Virginia Cavalier star quarterback Don Majokowski, who was a 10th round selection of the Packers in the 1987 draft is about to get more than a pat on the back for the things he did in Title Town.

The "Majik Man" will be inducted into the Packers hall of fame on July 23 of this year at Lambeau Field. Majkowski led the Packers to 10 wins in 1989 - at the time it was the most in 17 seasons in Green Bay. Majkowski also made the Pro Bowl that season. For his career in Green Bay he passed for 56 TDs and over 10,000 yards.

Athletes from around in the world gathered in Madison today for one of the premiere Ice Boat races. More than one hundered racers competed in the DN Cold Cup and North American Regatta. Boats travel on a clear sheet of ice at speeds of more than sixty miles an hour. Ice-boating dates back more than a hundred years in North America and Europe.
