Parts of Western Virginia saw a few inches of snow overnight.
And a coating of ice and snow could make the morning commute difficult in some areas.
But most in the Roanoke Valley will see wet pavement.

And Roanoke snowplows spread salt on many city streets.
But the temperature hovered around freezing overnight, and the snow didn't stick to the pavement.
Newspaper carrier Cornelia Hargrave wasn't anticipating any problems.

Good morning, I'm Kimberly McBroom......
We're ending the work week with snowfall, but it appears to be over at least for now.
[Graphic=Fire]
But first, some breaking news--
For the second time in less than two years fire has heavily damaged a restaurant in Amherst County.
Firefighters from around the county responded this morning around 6:30 to a blaze at the Briar Patch Restaurant.
Crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof.
The same restaurant caught fire and was destroyed in August of 2003.
No word yet on what caused today's fire, and no reports of injuries.
Now let's turn out attention to the forecast.
Here's metereologist Leo Hirsbrunner with a winter weather update.
