The Virginia Department of Transportation says most secondary roads still have a layer of ice and snow, but warmer temperatures later today should help out.
Crowell's Gap Road between routes 220 and 684 in Roanoke and Franklin Counties is closed due to icy conditions. The same is true for Twelve O-Clock Knob Road between routes 736 and 746 in Roanoke County.
It's unclear when they may be reopened.
VDOT is reporting minor conditions on some primary roads where icy spots remain.

The future of a community lake in Botetourt County is in question.

Members of Rainbow Forest Recreation Association have been ordered to drain their community lake because the dam holding the water isn't up to state code. The group hired a private engineer to offer suggestions in the project's next step. Four options have been suggested -- ranging in costs from about 178 to 41-thousand dollars. Those options include adding culverts to the existing dam, creating a dam in front of the current structure or ceasing to have a lake and dam altogether.

The amount of community-donated money by the end of March will determine which option is selected.
