One person is dead after an early morning accident in Roanoke.

Police say they think a car driving south on Williamson Road ran the red light at Orange Avenue and crossed the path of a tractor trailer headed east on Orange.
30 year old David Underwood of Vinton was pronounced dead at the scene.
The tractor trailer driver has not been charged.
Police are still talking to witnesses to try and figure out exactly what happened.

Roanoke County's plan to build a new public safety center is gaining speed.

As a result, the county plans to build a new 28 million dollar public safety building on Cove Road.
Last night, residents got a detailed look at the project and some have concerns about traffic and safety.

College students in Virginia say they're getting ripped off by university bookstores and publishers.

Virginia 21, an advocacy group for young people launched its Textbook Fairness Campaign yesterday.
The group wants to require colleges to post book lists online before classes start.
That way students have time to buy their books online, for cheaper prices, and aren't forced to shop their campus bookstore.
