The Norfolk Southern Corporation is reporting record profits for the fourth quarter, and the year.

The railroad earned 264 million dollars, or 65 cents a share, during the fourth quarter of 2004.
That's compared to 52 million dollars for the same period a year ago.
Chairman David Goode says 2004 was a record year for Norfolk Southern, with revenues topping seven billion dollars for the first time in the railroad's history.
