But a bill is moving through the General Assembly that would prohibit teens from talking while driving.

It's commonplace these days. Drivers of all ages talking on cell phones. But some lawmakers say it's a practice that puts teenagers at risk.

If passed in the House, the bill would make it illegal for teenagers, under the age of 18, to talk on a cell phone with or without a hands- free device. Lawmakers say that's because teens learning to drive need to keep their hands on the wheel and concentrate on what they're doing. But where enforcement is concerned, Senator Charles Hawkins says it's often hard for police officers to determine a drivers age.

Four Lynchburg-based Marines who were killed in Iraq Wednesday were remembered today during a rally in downtown Lynchburg.

Aid is now reaching survivors of the tsunami, but conditions remain so bad in many areas, it's hard to know where to begin. That's the observation of a Roanoke doctor who is now helping with relief efforts in Sri Lanka.
