Bishops vs. Panthers Scott Shepherd's team was :00 desperate for a home win against the
Bishops.

Kenny Johnson was lighting
things up from downtown. He tickles
the twine on a three ball to get Ferrum
started.

Later, Keith Harris leaves it
for Ken Holley who finishes with
another deuce for the Panthers.

But the Bishops were up for the
challenge. Check out Richard Carr who
goes right down the lane and puts in
the scoop. *CG final NC-Wesleyan

Last Season Sadler picked up 14 top 10 :00 finishes, including two victories.

He made the inaugural Chase for the
Nextel Cup, before finishing ninth out
of ten drivers. Sadler expects to be
in the mix again this season, and is
out to prove that last year was no
fluke.

ESPN2 Lleyton Hewitt was bidding to :00 become the first Australian man to win
the Aussie Open since 1976, but Hewitt
was overpowered in today's final by
Marat Safin.

Safin had lost two of the last
three finals down under, and lost the
first set in this one. But he rallied
to win 6-3, 6-4, and 6-4. The
fourth-seeded Safin completed a Grand
Slam, of sorts, for Russia. Russian
women won the French Open, Wimbledon
and U.S. Open last year. Safin made it
four in a row for his country

leader Joe Ogilvie who faltered down
the stretch.

The 1997 British Open champ
finished with a score of 28-under par
for the four days.

Ironically, the last two Hope

went on to win the Masters in the same

Pope John Paul II tried to release two
white doves from the windows of the
Vatican on Sunday to symbolize peace.

However, the white doves refused to fly
away and flew back into the window.

The pontiff was addressing thousands of
young people in an effort to promote
peace and remember children who live in
war zones.

Laughing, the pope tried to set the
birds free one last time --but the
attempt was unsuccessful.
