they've busted another meth lab.
On Friday they raided a home in
Rural Retreat along West Lee Highway.
22 year old Christopher Cress is
charged with manufacturing with intent
to distribute Methamphetamines.
Police say they found the drug
and several firearms.
A hazmat crew was brought in from
Tennessee to clean up the alleged lab.

looking for vandals that shot out the
windows of a church last week.
It happened sometime between
Thursday and Friday evenings at Max
Meadows Pentecostal Holiness.
Investigators say someone used a
B-B gun and shot the main door and
several windows, including a window in
the fellowship hall.

crime-watch group, will be forming next
month.
Members in groups of three will
patrol the campus on weekends from 9:00
to 1:00.
The Alpha Kappa Psi Business
fraternity decided to form the group
after one of its members was violently

formula used to caculate who gets a
pell grant.
They are typically given to low
income students.
It is estimated nationwide
90-thousand students will lose their
pell grants altogether. Another
million will see a reduction. Candice
Tucker is one of them.

hard to predict.
State money committees will
announce how they plan to spend the
money this weekend.

County.

Officials broke ground for a new
sports complex for the Forest Youth
Athletic Assocication.
This patch of land off Route 811
will soon be home to TWO new soccer
fields, a football field and a parking
lot.
It's being made possible in part by
a 50-thousand dollar contribution from
the Lynchburg Nissan car dealership.
The group still needs to raise
about 240-thousand dollars to complete
the project.

from the tsunami in South Asia.
The 1-point-2 Billion dollars
raised in one month is also enough to
cover LONG term needs.

River.

Saturday It happened Friday night, when a
state trooper tried to pull over an 80s
model blue Camaro on the Fairy Stone
Park Highway in Henry County.
Police say the driver jumped out
and ran into the river.
While the trooper was chasing
HIM, the PASSENGER drove off.
Investigators are now trying to
identify the license plates through
video taken from the trooper's vehicle.
