When the forecast calls for snow,
V-Dot gets ready.

whether it's an inch of snow or a foot.

And that's been the case the last few
years.
Last year, the state went over budget
by four million dollars.
The year before, it was nearly 100
million.
Here locally, V-Dot went over budget
by more than two million dollars last
year.
To make it up, the state had to make
some cuts like grass cutting and other
maintenance.
That angered many.

If the mild winter continues, cuts
may not be necessary, that's the hope
at least.

days."
The 84-year-old pontiff was

But the Vatican says tests show

for alarm" and denies reports that the
Pope ever lost consciousness or been

she was run over by her own car.
Police say 81-year-old Ann Slover
may have been warming up the vehicle
when she got out and knocked it into
reverse.
Slover got caught underneath as the
car rolled out her driveway, across a
neighbor's yard and into Franklin
Street.
A passing motorist saw her and
called for help.
Slover died at the hospital.

road tonight and emerged with a win at
Miami.
Tech came back to whip the
Hurricanes 83-to-73 and in the process
improve to 5-and-3 in the ACC.
The Hokies were led by point
guard Zabian Dowdell whofinished with a
game high 23 points.
Carlos Dixon added 17, while
Deron Washington scored 14 and Jamon
Gordon chipped in 11.
The Hokies shot 61 percent in the
second half.
They host Wake Forest on Saturday
in a game you can watch right here on

his best start in the eight years he
has been running the Radford girl's
program. The team is out scoring the
opposition by over 20 points. Radford's
success starts with defense, a unit
holding teams to just 33 points each
time out.

Offensively, Ashley Hayes is the
only Lady Bobcat in double figures,
scoring just over 17 points a game. But
spreading the wealth is the key to

expensive surgery.

been fighting a brain tumor for months.
He nicknamed the tumor Frank- after
Frankenstein's monster.
Today his doctors took the biopsy to
determine if the cancer was still
alive.
David's family raised money by
auctioning bumper stickers on Ebay.
They raised thousands of dollars in
hopes that David would be healed.
