died in Iraq Monday.

The Defense Department says
19-year old Lance Corporal Jason C.
Redifer was killed by hostile fire
while conducting a security operation.

Two other Marines died with him.

At least 100 U-S service men and

busted a drug lab in town.

Federal, state and local
authorities raided a location on Clay
Street Monday afternoon.

Officers say they found the
equipment and chemicals used to make
the drug Ecstasy.

So far no charges have been
placed.

they've put a dent in the area's
illegal methamphetamine trafficking.

Five people face federal
indictments for drug trafficking.

In the past three days, police
have arrested Ciro and June Garcia,
Randy Ellington, George Barbour and
Travis Viar.

Ellington is from Appomattox
County ... the rest live in Amherst
County.

lines near the front entrance, forcing
the re-routing of some traffic.

It's all part of the hospital's
multi-million dollar expansion that's
scheduled to get underway this summer.

Officials are asking the public to
be on the lookout for new traffic
patterns and construction workers when

The main entrance will be
relocated to the building's south side
when construction on the new patient
tower starts in June.

years.

But that may soon change.

The school day for most
elementary schools begins promptly at
nine o'clock.

Elementary school teachers say
they need their students at school
early -- when they learn best, while
middle and high school teachers say
students learn better when they sleep
late.

So Roanoke City is considering
changing the start of school.
