chemicals caught fire.

State troopers say the brakes of
a tractor trailer caught fire a few
miles north of Staunton this morning.
*CG locator Augusta Co. The fire spread to the trailer
which contained seven different
hazerdous chemicals.

I-81 was shut down in both
directions for hours as crews let the
fire burn itself out. Six nearby homes
were also evacuated as a precaution.

The northbound lanes reopened
this afternoon, but one southbound lane
is still closed. VDOT officials say
the mess won't be completely cleaned up
until four A-M at the earliest.

Desiree Jennings dead, and police

Rashadd Jones.

Red paint on 16th street shows
exactly where Desiree's car was parked
at the time of the shooting.

Saturday morning neighbors were
still taken aback by Friday nights
events, however they remember clearly
what they did when they heard the
gunfire.

AND I RAN FOR THE WINDOW AND CLOSED THE
BLINDS TO MAKE SURE THE BABIES WERE OK
AND I CUT OFF THE LIGHT TO MAKE SURE

Morris says within minutes of the
shooting the police were on the scene,

and trying to gather any leads they
could.

BRENDA MORRIS:I TOLD THEM I HEARD ABOUT
FIVE OR SIX GUN SHOTS AND THAT WAS
ABOUT IT. AT THAT TIME I SAW A WOMEN
RUNNING UP THE STREET HOLLERING IT WAS
HER DAUGHTER.

Lucy Borders says that woman was
Desiree's mother.

Borders says she and the victim's
mother took Desiree's baby girl from
the empty car and tried to console
Desiree's sister, who they say was also
in the car at the time of the shooting.

connection with a drug raid in Henry
County.

charged with possession of marijuana
with the intent to distribute.

Authorities arrested the men at a home

more than 40-thousand dollars.

Roanoke Civic Center had three rings of
acts for the kids to enjoy.

The event is sponsored by the
Shriner organization which uses some of
the proceeds to support its charity
work.
